If
the scouts think your patrol is boring, you have made your life
much harder. You need to think about how
to make the patrol meetings more fun, how your patrol can
have fun
at the troop meetings, and how to make trips and other event more
fun.
One great way to do that it
to celebrate something. - Anything, actually. If one of the scouts
has done something well, or the patrol accomplishes something neat,
or you have had your tenth patrol meeting, or the last scout has
learned the bowline, or whatever, - celebrate!.
Do a high five, clap and
whistle, jump up and down, practice a patrol cheer that's just
yours, give out a certificate of achievement (it doesn't have to be
fancy), you can even get the scoutmaster or an adult to formally
award it.
If there is something really
special, talk to the scoutmaster staff about how you can celebrate
it. They probably have some ideas you haven't thought about. We
have a lot of resources in the troop, maybe someone can take your
scouts flying, or get you tickets to something, or work with you to
make something for your celebration.
Go
for it!
