Picnic & Court Of Honor



REQUIEM

Devon 50 opened the 68th annual picnic and court of honor by paying tribute to fallen troop committee member J. Richard Uberti with a special tree planting ceremony. Mr. Uberti, 57, died suddenly of a heart attack on June 4th at the family's Paoli home. He had served the Troop committee over the years as secretary and special events chair.

NEW SCOUTS INDUCTED

David Scheidel, Senior Patrol Leader, inducted the following scouts into the troop:

SCOUT OF THE YEAR

The Scout of the Year Award went to J.R. Cavanaugh, as well as the Patrol Leader of the Year Award.

TROOP AWARD WINNERS

Steve Camman was judged best in carrying out the traditions of Devon 50.

Sean McConnell was awarded a scholarhip to Leadership training, and cited not only as as the scout demonstrating the most enthusiasm in Troop activities, but as the patrol leader whose patrol had the best advancement record.

Colin Ferriman, in earning the rank of Star and Life plus ten merit badges, led those with the best advance- ment records.

Interpatrol scout skills and proficiency in in cooking awards went to Gary Alloway and his Beaver patrol.

Jason Scheidel received the Daniel T. Kilcullen Memoria Award for his extraordinary service to Devon 50 and encourgaement to younger scouts.
