Work Day at Jarvis is a Success
Eagle Patrol
If you were not at this past work day, you missed a great get-together with friends and also a day of hard work followed with great food. The day got started at 8:00 when people first began to stack wood and trickle into the cabin. Everyone began work officially at 9:00. when patrols started to get busy on their jobs and worked until approximately 12:00. Lunch was pizza and hoagies, although people had definitely had a good tuck in with the donuts, pastries, coffee cake, and orange juice or hot coffee. Work that was done included cutting down trees, splitting wood and stacking it in the woodshed (which by the way could not be filled because of the excessive wood that was split), clearing fields so that things could be planted (including 15 young trees) and also clearing fields for the Court of Honor which is coming up in June.
After lunch, more work was done, and at 4:00 everyone went home, satisfied with the day's events. We would like to thank several mothers who took the time to clean the inside of the cabin. Even the moose got his antlers cleaned, so you can imagine how clean the cabin is! !! We would especially like to thank Mr. Jonak for organizing the whole thing, Mr. Chippendale for his work and lunch efforts, and also all the parents and scouts who came out and helped on that bright and sunny Saturday. Mr. Jonak is wondering if there can be a make up day for all those who did not show up (attendance was a bit shabby) so that there can be more trees planted and also more work done with the grounds.
Once again, for those of you who did not come, you missed a great work day and be sure to show up to the one in June so you can have a great time and meet new people!!!!!!

Mystery trip
Fox Patrol
On may 2 this past weekend we departed from the cabin and drove for about 2.5 hours. Finally we arrived at KOA campsite where we were told of the next days activities in Annnapolis. On Saturday we were trained to navigate and work fifteen foot sailboat. As we headed out of the bay, we were caught in rough weather, and one of our boats sank. When we returned to the docks we missed our lunch, so we had to make our own. Later again we tried out our skills. Being a little bit more successful. We ate all our meals in a navy bas in Annapolis. Later that night we went to Annapolis to shop, and the next day we returned home.
Recruitment
Wolf Patrol
Recruitment is one of the most important aspects to a Boy Scout troop. If a troop does not put a lot of attention into the idea of recruiting new scouts everyday, then the troop will have no future. So please appeal to the younger scouts and try to get more.
