Thoughts
from the Editor
For the last almost year I, Thomas Jonak, have been slaving over the Devon 50 Boy Scout Newspaper. Not to say that it was not fun! It just took a lot of work. just ask any person that has done it before. The time has come for me to pass the privilege of taking care of the newspaper on to some new blood. Dan Spangler will be doing the paper after I hand it down to him. So I hope that all the patrols will give him a little more cooperation than they gave to me. And if they don't the penalty will be: Beheading!!.
Well, no, but your patrol will not be able to earn any patrol points. Ha Ha you punks. Well, - here is the last issue of my Pelican Feathers.

District Camporee
Fox Patrol
On October 3rd through the 5th, the troop participated in the District Camporee held in East Whiteland Park. On Friday the patrols met at camp Jarvis where they packed all the equipment they will need. When thev arrived at the park. they had to check their gear through checkpoints before finding the Campsite.
That Saturday the boys went through a competition of events. Some of the events included building a trestle, scout pace., fishing for a bucket, and a few more interesting competitions. Later the troops gathered for a retreat. and then the patrols cooked dinner. That night the boys had fun around the fire before they went to their tents.
Sunday morning the troop packed up. Those who had to leave early left, and the rest went to church. All together the boys had fun and learned a lot.
Things to look forward to
The calendar has changed from our-original plan. The Triathlon that was planned for the weekend of the 8th has been moved to the weekend of the 15th. The trip will consist of 30 miles of canoeing, 15 miles of biking and 15 miles of Hiking.
That very same weekend the Devon 50 Boy Scouts will be having their scouting for food drive. The plan is that the scout will go into their friends "can depository" and look for all the extra cans of food that they are willing to give to the homeless.
On December 13th there will be the cool and fun Merit Badge Jambo. This is a time that scouts can get a head start on their merit badges. Make sure you go to the ones you need.
