Devon 50 Court of Honor Salutes Eagle #274

The Devon 50 Court of Honor was convened February 23, 2008
by Al Plambeck, Devon 50 Trustee and District Advancement Chairman
Charge given by J. B. Rettew, Devon 50 Trustee
Liam Gallagher – #274
Liam Gallagher was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on June 18, 1990. He currently lives in Wayne, Pennsylvania with his mother and father, Amy and Dan Gallagher as well as two brothers, Garrett and Aidan.
Liam began his Boy Scout career eleven years ago in Cub Scout Pack 81 while attending Valley Forge Elementary School. In April 2001, after receiving his Arrow of Light Award, Liam moved on to boy scouts and Devon 50.
Over the last several years, Liam has enjoyed many great Devon 50 activities including the annual ski trips, biking, hiking, and camping as well as summer camp at Horseshoe. The pinnacle of his Boy Scout experience was his trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in 2004.
Liam completed his eagle project in 2006. The project involved landscaping and restoration work benefiting St. Malachy’s church in North Philadelphia. The project was valuable to this parish located in a lower income area with little funds available for improvements. It helped provide a space for peace and reflection for the members of the parish.
In addition to scouting, Liam participated four years in Conestoga High School’s soccer program and continues to develop his musical talents that include percussion, guitar and keyboards.
Liam has not yet reached a decision on the college he will
attend in the fall, but he is looking forward to the experience. Liam would
like to thank the present and past Scoutmasters, Mr. Scott, Mr. Coonley and Mr.
Rohrbeck as well as all the Assistant Scoutmasters and parent volunteers that
helped make his years at Devon 50 memorable and rewarding. He also thanks his
mother and father for their encouragement and support.
