Steven Weber – #264

Stephen Weber was born in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania on March 20, 1989. He lives in Wayne with his parents, and has a brother Jon who is currently attending Penn State University, and a sister Karen who lives in Indiana.

Steve joined Devon 50 on February 14, 2001. He earned Tenderfoot and Second Class at summer camp (‘01), 1st Class (June ’02), Star (June ’03), Life (March ’04), and finally Eagle (January ’06). Steve has been an Assistant Patrol Leader and Patrol Leader of Wolf Patrol, and is now in Staff Patrol. He was called out to Order of the Arrow in February of 2005, and completed his ordeal in May.

Steve will be a senior at Conestoga High School in the fall. He attends Church of the Saviour and has been a counselor at Camp Little Bear for several years. This is his third summer working at Rita’s Water Ice in Paoli. In his free time, Steve plays roller hockey, racquetball and works out at the YMCA. He also enjoys woodworking, and playing poker, street hockey, and video games with his friends.

Steve’s Eagle Project took place at Thorncroft Therapeutic Riding Facility in Malvern. He designed and built two activity boards for the mentally and physically handicapped riders. The boards have shelves on which the riders can place letters and numbers to spell out names, sentences, math equations, etc. The second board has pegs that hold wooden pizza slices to help the kids with fractions. The boards provide a new and interesting way for the kids to academically engage themselves while simultaneously having physical therapy.

Some of Steve’s favorite trips were the horseback riding trip in the Poconos, the bike trip to the B&O Canal, and the skiing trip. He also vividly remembers his ordeal and first summer at camp.

Steve would like to thank all of those who aided him with reaching Eagle Scout.     He would especially like to thank his parents, scout leaders, and everyone who assisted with his Eagle Project.
