Leonard James Levi III – #261

Jimmy was born in Phoenixville Hospital on February 9th, 1988. He lived in Kimberton for four years and when his sister Caroline was born the family moved to Eagle, Pennsylvania. His younger sister Alexandra was born four years later.

Jimmy attended Charlestown Elementary School where he was a Cub Scout and Webelo in Pack 67. He joined Devon Troop 50 on April 14, 1999 and after a particularly exciting white water rafting trip with SM’s Buzz Davis and Bard Haerland he was hooked on scouting. One of Jimmy’s first accomplishments was earning a Devon 50 sweatshirt for attending all of the Jarvis’ workdays that year. Jimmy was assigned to the Eagle Patrol where he progressed from quartermaster to assistant patrol leader to patrol leader. He has also served as a patrol guide and troop scribe. For two years Jimmy enjoyed being a Pack 67 Den Chief.

Jimmy will always remember his yearly trips to Horseshoe, Science Camp, canoe, caving, white water rafting, and the C & O bike trips, as well as, service projects, other Eagle projects, and being a member of the $1000 Club for wreath sales. Other highlights were the 2001 National Jamboree, elected to the Order of the Arrow in 2002, receiving the 2002 Thomas Stillwell Jr. award for enthusiasm, earning the Silver Buckle at camp in 2004, and participating in the High Adventure Expedition at Philmont in New Mexico in 2004.  Jimmy feels lucky to have shared his scouting experiences with his dad, Len, a Devon 50 ASM.

Jimmy’s Eagle Project involved the restoration and cleanup of a half - mile section of Valley Creek and surrounding lands in the Cedar Hollow Nature Preserve.

A junior at GVHS, Jimmy is a member of the stage crew, comedy group, and video crew. He plays the cello, trombone, and base guitar and is a member of the Patriot Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Honors Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Honors String Ensemble, and Pit Orchestra. He enjoys playing in the youth music group at church every Sunday. He also performs for Village Productions of Yellow Springs and the Forge Theater in Phoenixville. His interest in music is leading him towards a career in the field of music. He has also achieved the rank of Airman 1st Class in Civil Air Patrol Squadron 1008.

Jimmy thanks everyone associated with Devon Troop 50 for the fond memories and the life skills learned.
