Darren Pennington Scott - #256

Darren Scott was born April 18, 1989 in Fairfax, Virginia. In 1995 his family moved from Dallas, Texas to Wayne, Pa. Darren was a Cub and Webelos Scout in Paoli Pack 81 earning the Arrow of Light.

Darren was eager to join Devon 50 upon visiting his older brother, Nelson, at Camp Horseshoe in 1998. The Adirondack Lean-to's, Dining Hall camaraderie and impressive closing Horseshoe Ceremony made a big positive impression. In 2000 Darren became a Devon 50 member as part of the Fox Patrol.  Darren was a Den Chief for Pack 111 and contributed to sever of his Webelos joining D-50.  In 2002 Darren became Co-PL of the Hawk Patrol with Chris Sauter and later became PL of Wolf Patrol. He is now the Troop Advisor for Wolf Patrol Staff.

Darren was elected to the Order of the Arrow in 2003. Darren has exceeded his wreath sale quota each year and fondly looks forward to the Mystery Trip.  Darren's favorite trip each year is the Elk Mountain Ski Weekend although this year it will be memorable for a bad fall and broken arm.

Darren's Eagle Service Project was the design and construction of a 31 foot wooden bridge for hikers and maintenance equipment across the Cedar Hollow Creek in the Tredyffrin Open Space Land Conservancy Nature Preserve. Darren wants to thank Mr. Mc Aloon, Mr. Purdy and all the scouts and adults that helped complete this lasting and impressive Eagle Project.

Darren attended Valley Forge Elementary and Valley Forge Middle School's and is currently a freshman at Conestoga High School.

Darren enjoys snow skiing, paintball, and playing lacrosse when not focusing on his studies or involved in Troop activities. Darren intends to continue as an active scout leader and earn the Bronze Palm.

Darren would also like to thank his Mom, for her tireless dedication to making this honor possible and his Dad for his active participation in the Troop.
