Eagle Scout, Devon # 247

Mark A. Adamiak was born on September 3, 1984 in Columbus, Ohio.   He and his parents lived there until the summer of 1990 when they moved to Paoli.

Mark joined Cub Scout Pack 113 in 1992.  As a cub scout, he fond memories of winning first place in his pack and second place in the county in 1996 in the Pinewood Derby competition.

Mark became a Weblo in 1994 and joined Devon 50 in the spring o f 1996 under the leadership of Scoutmaster Jim Dunn.  His more recent scouting career was under the leadership of  Scoutmasters Davis,  Haerland, and  Scott.  Devon 50 highlights for Mark have included the West Virginia caving and Elk Mountain ski trips, as well as his six years of summer camp at Camp Horseshoe.

Mark was part of the Beaver Patrol for three years under Mike Norton, Adam Arnold, and Gabe Roxby respectively.  He then became Patrol Leader of the newly created Stag Patrol. He was Librarian for the Staff Patrol and has been  Senior Patrol Leader from the fall of 2001 until the present.

In 2000, Mark was awarded the Edward H. Richardson Leadership Award and his Patrol (Stag) received the Little Cup Award for highest score in scout skills.  He received the Silver Buckle Award for outstanding leadership last summer at Camp Horseshoe.

Mark’s Eagle Project involved designing and building two fire circles and four sets of benches for the Paradise Farm Camp in Downingtown – which provides summer camping experiences for underprivileged youth.  Prior to building and installing the benches,  he and his fellow scouts had to clear out one existing fire pit, and then dig the two new pits, lining them with heavy stones.

Mark just completed his junior year at Malvern Preparatory School.  He is a trumpet player in the Jazz Band there and is part of the soccer and track teams.  He is a parishioner at St. Norbert Church and is a member of the youth group there.

Mark resides with his parents, Mark and Susan and his siblings, Jessie and Billy.  He plans to attend college after graduation from Malvern
