Gabriel Roxby

Devon 50 Eagle Scout #243

Gabriel Roxby was born on November 6th, 1983 in Durham, North Carolina. Shortly after, he moved to the Bronx, New York where he lived for 5 years.  He has a brother, Eli, age 14, who is also a member of Devon 50.  He now resides in Paoli and currently is a senior in Conestoga High School.  At Conestoga, he has been a part of the Winter and Spring Track teams. Gabe is also a member of the National Honor Society and is a National Merit Commended Scholar.

Before entering the troop, Gabe was a Webelo in Pack 112.  There he got his first taste of scouting and earned the Arrow of Light.  In 1995, he joined Devon 50 and entered the Beaver Patrol.  Since then, he has held a variety of leadership positions including Den Chief, Patrol Leader, Scribe, and most recently, Senior Patrol Leader.  His favorite trip was the High Adventure Canoe Trip to Maine during the summer of 2000.

As a member of Troop 50, Gabe is a member of the Order of the Arrow, and has earned the Scout of the Year Award, the J.B. Rettew III Award, the Top Patrol Leader Trophy, the Daniel Kilcullen Memorial Award, the Edward H. Richardson Leadership Award, the Lenker-Flood Plaque, the William Sellers Leadership Award, and the Silver Buckle.

Gabe’s Eagle Project took place at Surrey Services for Seniors.  It was a landscaping project consisting of weeding, planting trees and preparing the building for its Grand Opening.  Surrey is a non-profit organization, which assists the elderly in the local community.

In addition to scouts, Gabe is an active member of his synagogue where he does volunteer work aiding the Interfaith Hospitality Network.  The network helps house temporarily homeless community members in local churches and synagogues.

In the future, Gabe is looking forward to attending college and majoring in Computer or Physical Sciences.
