Colin R. Ferriman  - #224

Colin was born December 9, 1979 in Denver, Colorado. At the age 6 he moved with his parents and 2 sisters, Mandy and Jolene, across the Continental Divide to Steamhoat Springs. His love of the outdoors developed during the many family camping trips in Western Colorado, Wyoming and Utah.

Colin joined Devon Troop 50 when his family moved to Pennsylvania. He has greatly enjoyed his scouting experiences and has held responsible positions as the patrol leader of the Eagle Patrol and later as the Troop Quartermaster. Among his favorite scouting activities have been the Klondike Derby, troop skiing, and troop activities on Devon 50 home grounds.

For his Eagle project Colin organized and led Troop 50 scouts and adults in a maintenance project to prepare Philadelphia's Tall Ship, Gazela, for its 10 week excursion to New England ports of call. Although the youngest crewmember he was nominated and awarded a singular honor, The Outstanding Shipmate Award, by the officers and crew of the oldest wooden barkentine still sailing. This summer he will again sail North aboard the Gazela to the Canadian Maritimes. After his senior year he anticipates studying Art towards a possible teaching position. His paternal grandfather and father are also Eagle Scouts.

Colin is an honors major in High School.
