DAVID JOSEPH PETER SCHEIDEL II

The Court of Honor was convened June 15, 1996 at 6:30 PM by J. B. Rettew III, President of the Board of Trustees of Devon 50, Inc., and Devon 50 Eagle Scout #29.


David Joseph Peter Scheidel II - #218


David was born on June 16, 1978 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He lived in Malvern until the age of 2 when his family moved to Phoenixville. He attended St. Monica's School in Berwyn until the 6th grade when he transferred to Phoenixville Area Junior High School. During his years at the Junior High School and High School, David participated in soccer, football, and wrestling.

David was a member of Cub Scout Pack 113 and received his Arrow of Light before becoming a Boy Scout in the spring of 1989. David has attended Horseshoe Scout Reservation for 6 years and received the Silver Buckle award in the summer of 1993. David was a member of the Hawk Patrol and later the patrol leader of that patrol. He took the Hawk Patrol to heights that it had not seen since the era of Jim Dunn, winning virtually every award at the summer Court of Honor. Some of these awards were the Patrol Cooking Competition and the Best Patrol Leader. After having been on staff one year, David became Senior Patrol Leader and led the troop for a year before handing down.

David comes from a large family with 2 brothers and 3 sisters. His 2 brothers are both in scouting.

David enjoys playing sports and going camping whenever he can. David loves skiing and went with the Explorers to Killington in 1994. He also loves to travel and has gone to Europe twice. He participated in the Essex International Scout and Guide Jamboree in 1992. He also went to Spain with his Spanish class in the spring of 1996. Some of his favorite trips are: Caving in West Virginia, Skiing at Elk mountain, Whitewater rafting, and England.

David has just recently graduated from Phoenixville Area High School and is attending Drexel University in the fall. His intended majors are Engineering and Spanish.
