John S. Wyler

John S. Wyler, Jr., was born September 23, 1975 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. He lived in West Goshen until 1977 when he moved to Andover, Massachusetts. He began his scouting career as a member of Cub Scout Pack 79 in Andover. John was very active as a cub scout, earning the Arrow of Light badge. He crossed the bridge to Boy Scout Troop 79, also in Andover. He was very active in his troop, earning many merit badges and was a patrol leader. He was an avid camper and enjoyed the snow. The Klondike Derby was one of his favorite events.

John was a good student at Sanborn Elementary School. He was active in basketball, softball, soccer, and chorus. In sixth grade he moved to Berwyn, Pennsylvania and enrolled in TE Intermediate School. He participated in wrestling, track, chorus, and the yearbook staff. He joined Devon 50 and continued to earn badges and rank. He was a Den Chief for cub scout pack 100 at Sugartown School. At camp he was known for his archery and shooting abilities. He has served as assistant patrol leader, patrol leader, and on staff.

He is currently attending Conestoga High School. He participates in computer club, and the yearbook. He enjoys playing paint ball and has participated in numerous tournaments with his team, the Night Crawlers. He enjoys outdoor activities, especially skiing, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. He has worked in the neighborhood doing lawn maintenance and currently has a part time job with a landscape nursery. John is a born tinkerer. Our driveway is usually filled with his friends' cars that are in various stages of repair. Currently he and his brother are maintaining a honey bee hive.

John constructed a nature walk at Beaumont School for his eagle project. The project involved clearing land, building bird houses and a feeder, planting a wild flower garden, planting trees, and labeling various trees. His project provides the students as opportunity to observe the seasonal activities of birds, from nesting to watching the young leave home. The wild flower garden attracts birds and butterflies. The students can also learn about the trees in the area by reading the informational plaques.

John is planning to attend college next year to study engineering.
