Matthew John McAloon

October 30, 1993 - The Court of Honor was convened by Bill Iorio, Council Commissioner. Receiving their Eagle ranks were John Burg, Tom Eybye, Matt McAloon and John Wyler.


Matthew (Matt) John McAloon


Matthew John McAloon was born in Philadelphia and has lived in Berwyn all his life. Matt attended Beaumont and T/E Intermediate School and is currently a Sophomore in Conestoga.

Matt played league soccer for six years and lacrosse for three years. Last year he played lacrosse for Conestoga. In his free time Matt enjoys sailing.

During Matt's five years in Devon 50, he has been an active member of the troop. He went to Horseshoe as a camper for four years and the past summer was an Aquatics staff member. In 1990 Matt completed Junior Leader Training at Camp Ware.

In Devon 50 Matt has been an Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, and Assistant Quartermaster. He is currenty serving as Quartermaster. Matt was elected to the Order of the Arrow in 1992. Some of the activities he has participated in are the Colorado high adventure in 1991, the Essex International Jamboree in England in 1992, and the National Jamboree in 1993 at Camp A.P. Hill, Virginia.

Three of Matt's favorite scouting activities were the trip to North Carolina's Outer Banks for the mystery trip, the sailing trip with the Annapolis Sailing School and biking on the C & O Canal.

After college, Matt would like to fly helicopters for the military.
