October 30, 1993 - The Court of Honor was convened by Bill Iorio, Council Commissioner. Receiving their Eagle ranks were John Burg, Tom Eybye, Matt McAloon and John Wyler.
Born on 21 September, 1977 John Stoddard Burg has lived in Berwyn and now Paoli. John has a thirteen year old sister, Sara.
John participated in Cub Scouting in Pack 113 where he earned his Arrow of Light award. John has attended Horseshoe Scout Camp for the last five summers. Most recently, he served as Senior Patrol Leader and was awarded the Silver Buckle. He was a member of the Beaver patrol from 1989 until he retired as patrol leader in the spring of 1993. John also served as a Den Chief to Pack 113 and a guide to the Beaver Patrol. He was elected to the Order of the Arrow in 1991, passed his ordeal in April of 1992, and received the degree of Brotherhood in April of 1993.
John has thoroughly enjoyed the many activities that he has taken part in as a Scout. In addition to the regular troop activities and summer camp, he attended Packard High Adventure Base in Colorado in 1991, the Essex (England) International Scout and Guide Jamboree in 1992, and Philmont Scout Ranch and the National Jamboree at Fort A.P. Hill in 1993.
John's Eagle project was the construction of two gates and the design of an entrance path at the George Lorimer Nature Preserve on North Valley Road in Paoli. The purpose of the gates is to prevent people from bringing vehicles such as ATVs, go-carts, and bicycles into the preserve.
A Sophomore at Conestoga High School, John plays the violin in the Orchestra and the electric guitar in the jazz band. John is on the wrestling team and in the World Affairs Club. He also plays the violin in the Delaware County Youth Orchestra. John has sailed Lasers and other small boats for the last eight years..
