Devon 50 - Alumni Corner

Welcome back, Alumni!   What would you like to see
on this website?
This is your section of our website,
and we hope you will use it often.

If you have ideas on how to make it more attractive, interesting and useful for YOU, please let us know.
We plan for this page to have news and stories from the Troop today, news about the upcoming 75th anniversary in celebration in 2002, stories and anecdotes from today or from yesteryear sent in by our alumni and anything else that you would like to see.

We also hope to provide a mechanism for you to leave  information for us right on the website, but until that is in place, please provide this information via US mail or e-mail as described  on the right.

Also, feel free to contact Bard Haerland, our Scoutmaster, or any of the scoutmaster staff via phone or e-mail any time.

We are in the process of building our Alumni contact files, so that we can inform everyone about our 75th anniversay celebration, and other items of interest about Devon 50. Even if you think we have your information, please send us your name and contact information anyway (including your e-mail address, if you have one). For now, you can e-mail it to bsa50@devon50.org, or to JB Rettew at
 jbr3@prodigy.net

Calling
all Devon 50
Alumni!

Get ready for the 75th!

Recall those days of backpacking the Appalachian Trail…canoeing the Delaware…scavenger hunts ....and, yes, even ‘snipe hunts’!

Well, -  today’s Troop is just as active and spirited. As alumni we can take pride in our Troop, its long-standing reputation, its Scouts and especially the fine leadership of SM Bard Haerland as we  head towards the 75th Birthday celebration in 2002.

Today, canoeing has become a main interest of the boys; so much so that the T50 owns a fleet of canoes and is building a canoe shed at the upper end of the parking lot at Camp Jarvis. Also, the plans call for a rappelling tower to be erected in the days ahead. More news to come!

This “Alumni” part of the Troop’s website will carry additional information and nostalgia in the months ahead. If you keep in touch with fellow alumni tell them about the Devon 50 website or refer them to the Chester County Council’s website which will provide the link to Devon 50 in the future and Octoraro Lodge 22.

That address is http://www.cccbsa.org and there is additional information about contacting the Troop in our site.

Best as ever – JB Rettew
